How it works
The converter first breaks your text into words. It splits on spaces and punctuation, on underscores, hyphens, dots and slashes, and inside camelCase or PascalCase identifiers wherever a lower-case letter or digit is followed by a capital. Runs of capitals are treated as acronyms, so parseHTMLResponse becomes parse, HTML and Response, and XMLHttpRequest becomes XML, Http and Request. Those words are then re-joined in every style at once: camelCase and PascalCase for JavaScript, Java and C#, snake_case for Python, Ruby and SQL columns, SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE for constants and environment variables, kebab-case for CSS classes, URLs and file names, dot.case for configuration keys, and path/case for routes. Title, Sentence, lower and UPPER case cover prose, while toggle flips every letter of the original text.
Common questions
- Why did my acronym lose its capitals? Styles that capitalise words normalise each word, so HTML becomes Html in camelCase. That is the convention most style guides (Google, Microsoft, Swift) recommend for identifiers.
- Multiple lines are handled independently, so you can paste a column of database fields and copy back a column of property names.
- Digits stay attached to the letters before them: version2Beta splits into version2 and Beta.
- Title Case capitalises every word; it does not apply editorial rules for short words like "of" or "the".
